Royal Tourneys

A Royal Tourney is a crown Seat's weekly individual duel ladder, held at the castle entrance square in its city. It runs when the holder proclaims the Royal Tourney edict. It is a distinct PvP venue from the scheduled 20-minute player guild Tourney over an unheld Charter.

Find and enter the ring

  1. Open the crown Seat's Seat tab and check that a Royal Tourney is proclaimed for the current week.
  2. Go to that crown's city and castle entrance square.
  3. Use the Seat tab's contender or spectator entry and wait for the ring's ready prompt. Contenders must be in the same crown city.
  4. Challenge a contender from their profile card. The other contender challenges back to accept.

The separate ring admits its contenders and watchers; entering a town normally does not enter the Tourney. Leaving the city or the Tourney connection leaves that venue.

Bout rules

Rule Value
Fighters in a bout 2
Bouts active in the ring at once 1
Challenge acceptance window 30 seconds
Countdown 3 seconds
Ring radius 12 m
Additional edge tolerance 4 m
Longest bout 5 minutes
Disconnected fighter's walkover interval 10 seconds
Counted bouts against the same opponent Up to 3 per UTC day

Weapons and permitted spells are refereed. Use the ring and current combat HUD rather than treating this as an ordinary open-world attack. The Tourney has no open-zone equipment-loot objective.

Weekly result

Rule Value
Competition period The proclaimed Seat week
Settlement The Turning, Sunday 18:00 UTC
First ranking criterion Most wins
First tie-break Fewer losses
Next tie-break Reached the winning total earlier
Proclaimed prize pool 5,000 silver funded by the holder's edict
Winner's title Champion of the kingdom for that season, kept permanently
No bout won The unawarded prize returns to its funding treasury

Find several opponents rather than relying on a single repeated pairing. Check the Seat tab's current week and prize before travelling: a crown without that week's edict has no Royal Tourney to enter. General Charters, influence and edicts are described under Guild seats and sieges.
