Armour in combat
Under the default combat rules, armour reduces damage to the body part struck. Covering every body part matters. Shields provide protection according to their material; a weapon in your off hand does not block like a shield.
See Armour for equipment and Materials for material bonuses.
See enemy attack warnings for attack shapes, wind-up times and counterattack openings.
