Regions

A region determines more than its place on the map. Local government, inhabitants, weather and resources depend on where you travel. Tamriel Map has nine provinces; the Iliac Bay retains its established local regions.

The population column describes the majority outside the Bay. Provincial populations also include neighbouring peoples, and some local areas have a different majority. The Iliac Bay keeps its existing population rules.

Local environments

A biome selects local ground, plants, weather and creatures. Biomes blend at their borders. A province can contain several biomes, and a ground climate can occur in several provinces.

See Tamriel biomes for the complete table and Weather for moving fronts, local precipitation and volcanic ashfall.

The Cyrodiil open zone permits player combat outside safe settlements. The Wrothgarian Mountains Map are an ordinary region again. Check zone rules before crossing a settlement boundary.
