Desktop app

Desktop downloads are provided through the game's GitHub releases for Windows, Apple-silicon macOS and Linux. Choose the installer for your system or the portable Windows version.

The app runs the same game as the website and adds:

• Saves as real files, in Daggerfall Unity's layout. File > Open Saves Folder shows them.
• ARENA2 read straight from your folder. On first run the app looks for Daggerfall on Steam, GOG, in Daggerfall Unity's settings, or in an unpacked DaggerfallGameFiles.zip. The File menu also has Locate ARENA2 Folder.
• A launcher that shows the patch notes since you last played (new ones marked NEW), your game files and saves, update settings, and a Play button.
