Provisioning

Provisioning covers alchemy and cooking. Brew potions from ingredients in your Stores and cook dishes that provide temporary bonuses. Both activities advance the same profession.

Potions and food are useful consumables, and daily crafting writs ask for both. First-time recipe bonuses make Provisioning one of the quickest crafts to reach Journeyman.

Making money

Best dependable silver: complete the worthwhile potion and dish writs your account receives. Best repeat-sale direction: Cook's extra servings for known food buyers, or brews for buyers who actually pay for them. Check the counter bill: a large writ reward can be mostly repayment for expensive reagents.

What the current writs pay

The table shows available request examples, rather than a daily menu you can choose. It assumes no finished stock and no extra-output perk.

Property Included
Counter spend Required Apothecaries’ ingredients only
Other material costs Herbs, meat, fish, gems and other gathered or player-bought inputs are additional
Station fees Gold; cooking at a lit fire is free

Without Brewer, an ordinary brew produces two bottles before Master. A dish craft produces one serving.

The Feast writ is useful when you already have the food. Those ingredients still have a player-sale value.

Ingredient Quantity per Feast craft
Raw Meat 4
Raw Fish 4
Apple 2
Orange 2
Mushroom 2
Egg 2

At rank 70, handing in one Feast pays 120 silver with no counter or fire fee. Cook makes two Feasts from the same recipe, leaving one after the writ.

Treat the writ payments above as gross revenue. Orc Strength also uses 2 Iron for the listed request; Restore Power needs its gathered ingredients; Purification needs a Diamond and other gathered inputs. Counter spend and station fees do not include those material costs.

A Heal True request needs three bottles. Without Brewer at ranks 25–49, two fresh brews cost more silver at the counter than the writ pays.

Output Fresh brews Counter spend (silver) Station fees (gold) Writ payment (silver) Bottles left
Normal at ranks 25–49 2 92 50 76 1
With Brewer or Master output 1 46 25 76 0

Gathered inputs are additional costs. At rank 55, Chameleon Form, Shadow Form and Cure Poison have a much smaller counter bill; compare their gathered inputs before choosing stock.

Perks, leftovers and repeat sales

Perk Request Fresh crafts Left over
Cook at rank 50 3 dishes 2 1 serving
Brewer at ranks 50–99 4 bottles 2 2 bottles

Brewer raises ordinary output to three bottles at ranks 50–99. All ordinary brews already make three at Master, so Brewer adds no output then. Use leftovers for a later matching request or sell them when a buyer is available.

Potent bottles and higher-quality kits receive no writ premium. Use ordinary goods for writs when a buyer values the better version. Clean herbs, Distiller and an Apothecary improve Potent chance without raising writ pay.

At Provisioning 100, Transmuter uses 2 lower metals and 1 Mercury to make 1 higher metal, plus the station fee. Compare all inputs and Market fees before selling the output.
