Raised loot piles: Elona and alternatives
The reported instant refills in The Convocation of Elona Map, Daggerfall — Public concern loot piles resting on furniture, such as shelves and benches. Opening a pile on a shelf is different from searching the shelf itself. Other players were present during the report.
Source checks found a shared-loot mismatch that can refill piles, including Elona’s raised entrance pile. Luck can change the reconstructed material; in some dungeon types, character level can too.
When a client cannot reconstruct saved contents and becomes host, the game can roll the pile again instead of preserving its emptied state.
This was reproduced with intact saved records in the released game code, without entering the live game. It affected the marked piles at 23 of the 29 tested locations, including Elona, Shrertke, Gaering, Wicksly's Guard, Gloste Hall and Chesun Cabin. Some floor piles were affected too: being on furniture is not itself the reset rule.
This is a possible cause of the report, not confirmation of a reliable refill on every exit. Re-entering again with the same stats and the updated saved record kept the piles empty. Other players being present does not establish which client hosted the room. The live Elona room's saved state and host changes have not been captured.
Regular piles otherwise refresh after 20 real minutes; Elite piles take 40 minutes. Missing saved pile records can also recreate the original loot. For enemy drops rather than treasure piles, see the Enemy loot tables.
The Convocation of Elona
The entrance block has one raised pile reachable along a 62 m return circuit. Follow E → 1 → E on the map. Stand beside the furniture and collect the pile; the route does not require climbing onto it. Its position is roughly 0.8 m above the surrounding floor.
Twenty-two dungeons share this entrance block. Their complete public layouts were checked independently for walking access and the ability to open the raised pile. They have different enemies and treasure tables. Only Elona has a player report of instant refills; none was tested in a live session.
Best matches for the Elona pile
All routes below visit the same single raised-pile position along the 62 m circuit. Each reproduced the stat-mismatch refill in the source tests. This is a scouting order based on loot and travel, not a list of confirmed instant-refill farms.
| Priority | Dungeon | Region | Loose gold per fresh pile | Why consider it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reference | The Convocation of Elona Map | Daggerfall | 1–40 | Reported refill location; 90% initial armour roll and 60% weapon roll |
| 1 | Castle Shrertke Map | Totambu Map | 1–40 | Same treasure table and material rules as Elona; about 80 km from Wayrest Map |
| 2 | Castle Gaering Map | Glenpoint Map | 10–20 | Better material rolls, with 70% initial armour and 50% weapon rolls; about 85 km from Daggerfall |
| 3 | Wicksly's Guard | Daggerfall | 10–20 | Closest matching entrance to Daggerfall city, about 41 km away; lower material rolls than Elona |
| 4 | Ruins of Gloste Hall Map | Dragontail Mountains Map | 0–7 | Best material rolls among the matching entrances, with 80% initial armour and 40% weapon rolls; about 157 km from Wayrest Map |
| 5 | Ruins of The Chesun Cabin Map | Alik'r Desert Map | 1–40 | Same ordinary equipment chances as Elona; material rolls improve with level until level 15; about 89 km from Sentinel Map |
Elona and Shrertke retain their material advantage at low character levels. Chesun, The Fortress of Greenwing Map, Kambria Map, and The Gaol of Agristair Map, Daenia Map share Elona's equipment chances but have worse material rolls below level 15. Their initial armour and weapon rolls can be followed by additional drops.
Castle Nezon Map, Alik'r Desert Map, also has the raised pile, but its treasure table has no ordinary weapon or armour rolls. The matching Harpy Nests, The Hold of Mastersley Map and The Aviary of Sashotgon Map, have neither ordinary equipment rolls nor loose gold. These are poor first choices for selling ordinary gear, even though separate magic-item drops remain possible.
