Wardrobe
The Wardrobe changes the appearance of worn armour, shields and weapons using looks that your character has collected. Damage, armour, enchantments and other item statistics stay the same.
Open Wardrobe at a Clothing Store, Armorer or Weaponsmith. Any of these shops can dress an eligible worn piece.
- Select the worn item.
- Choose a collected appearance of the same equipment kind.
- Select Try to preview the look without paying.
- Review the displayed fee and select Wear to apply it.
Costs
A new look costs 5% of that appearance's base item value, rounded to whole gold, with a minimum fee of 25 gold.
| Example | Fee (gold) |
|---|---|
| Iron equipment | 25 |
| Ebony longsword | 288 |
| Daedric cuirass | 7,680 |
| Restore the item's own appearance | 0 |
Collecting appearances
Holding eligible equipment adds its appearance to the character's collection. Browse it in Collections → Appearances. An appearance must match the worn item's kind: a shield remains a shield, and a weapon keeps its attack type.
Artifact art and Gilded looks are not added to the appearance collection. An appearance stays when you unequip and re-equip the item. When the item changes hands, it returns to its own appearance. Other online players can see the appearance you wear.
