Weapon skill and damage
In online PvE, equipment bonuses to Long Blade, Short Blade, Axe, Blunt Weapon or Archery increase weapon-hit damage from the first bonus point. Each point supplied by gear adds 0.44% damage, up to 320% from gear. The trained-skill value is separate.
Equipment contribution
| Weapon-skill points from gear | Added damage from gear |
|---|---|
| 0 | 0% |
| 25 | 11% |
| 100 | 44% |
| 200 | 88% |
| 400 | 176% |
| 600 | 264% |
| 728 or more | 320% (cap) |
The equipment percentage adds to the applicable trained-mastery damage percentage. For example, 100 gear points and a 40% trained-mastery damage bonus give 84% extra damage at this stage, before other sources. The shared weapon-skill damage ceiling is +400% (5× damage).
Restrictions
| Situation | Equipment damage bonus |
|---|---|
| Ordinary online monster combat | Applies |
| Attacks against players | Does not apply |
| Duels and other refereed player fights | Does not apply |
| Mentor Mode | Does not apply; trained mastery can still contribute at the reduced skill value |
| Beast form | Does not apply |
| Hand-to-Hand | Uses its existing skill-based damage rules instead |
See Mentor Mode for temporary combat scaling and Damage bonus limits for the separate ceilings on other sources. Short Blade’s trained mastery improves swing speed; its gear bonus still improves hit damage.
