Weather fronts
With Weather as places, weather forms regional systems that grow, move with the wind and fade. You can travel from clear ground into cloud, then into the rain or snow within a front.
| System | Lifetime (game hours) | Surrounding weather |
|---|---|---|
| Rain | 12–30 | Overcast, then cloudy |
| Snow | 12–30 | Overcast |
| Thunder | 2.5–7 | Inside a rain front; ends with its parent front |
| Sandstorms | 4–10 | Cloudy |
| Ashfall | 6–16 | Overcast |
| Fog | 4–10 | — |
| Overcast | 12–30 | Cloudy |
| Cloudy | 8–24 | — |
Lifetimes describe the whole system from formation to fading. They are not a promise of uninterrupted weather at one place: a system can pass you, and its strength changes over its life. Fog tends to form in the early morning. Summer storm cells favour the afternoon.
The Overworld view provides a forecast. Use Weather for local rain, sleet and snow thresholds.
