Weapon techniques — Getting a technique
Techniques roll on looted weapons, or on gauntlets for bare hands. Shops, quest rewards and crafted equipment do not roll them. The chance below applies only to equipment that can carry a technique.
| Rarity | Chance to roll a technique | Technique power bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Magic | 12% | +5–15% |
| Rare | 30% | +15–30% |
| Legendary | 45% | +30–50% |
Each technique is limited to its weapon family. For example, Leap Strike appears on Long Blade weapons. To use it on a different weapon, find another eligible weapon that already has it.
Crafting, the item maker, Reforge and Imprint cannot add, copy or swap a technique. Hone can increase the power of an existing technique within its rarity's range, without changing the move. A Magic weapon with +15% Leap Strike is already at its maximum; a higher bonus requires a Rare or Legendary weapon.
Ordinary skill bonuses are separate: Enhances Skill can add Dodging, Critical Strike or another chosen skill to eligible equipment.
