Survival — Torches and lanterns
Based on the Daggerfall Unity mod Handheld Torches by RedRoryOTheGlen. A torch, candle or lantern is held in a free hand.
- Keys: F lights or douses, Tab drops, and holding X winds up a torch throw.
- The hand rule: a shield, two-hander, bow, readied spell, climb, swim or beast form leaves no free hand, so the light is stowed or dropped.
- Burning: a held light loses 1 condition every 20 seconds. A torch dies at 0; a lantern can be refuelled. Dropped lights keep burning.
- Throwing: a thrown torch can set an enemy alight, and Strength sets how far it flies.
- The hip lantern: by default a lit lantern hangs at your hip, taking no hand. It has its own inventory slot.
- The Lamp Keeper: on 1 shop-day in 25, a shopkeeper stands as a street lamp. Talk to them for the title I Love Lamp.
