Logging — Felling a tree

Property Appearance Range
Compass Sap-green marker for fellable trees 150 m
World Star-shaped glints on the trunk —
Overworld Green diamonds such as Logging ×9 —

Only marked trees can be felled. Towns and deserts have none. You can log at any hour when enemies are not nearby, you are not fully encumbered and you are not at sea.

Face a tree and press Interact (E). The prompt names the wood, such as Chop Pine, or shows the rank needed.

Step Action Result
1 Press attack when the shrinking ring meets the notch’s edge Clean Cut; counts as two chop points
2 Wait for the swing to finish before attacking again Presses during a swing are ignored; ordinary cuts count as one point
3 Repeat as the ring restarts after each chop Pine and Oak need three Clean Cuts; harder woods need more
4 Finish felling Tree creaks halfway, then falls away from you; logs enter your bag

The stump remains for the rest of your day. Esc cancels at any point without loss.

Harvest result Yield
Logs 2–4 per tree
Resin 25% chance per tree on any ground
Heartwood Small chance per Clean Cut on witnessed ground; at most 1 per tree
All cuts clean +50% XP; no extra logs

Strength, Intelligence and rank widen the clean band. Gentle work on the Professions page removes timing, Clean Cuts and Heartwood.
