Hunting
Hunting supplies hides, meat and animal parts. Use a Skinning Knife on an animal you killed. Skinning adds materials without removing the body's ordinary loot.
| Profession | Materials used | Products |
|---|---|---|
| Outfitting | Hides, furs and Spider Silk | Leather, Wool, Silk, armour, clothing, rugs and tapestries |
| Smithing | Cured Leather | Repair Kits, plate armour and weapons |
| Cooking | Raw Meat | Hunter’s Stew and Feast of the Hearth |
| Provisioning | Big Tooth, Spider’s Venom, Giant Scorpion Stinger | Potions |
| Fletching | 1 Harpy Feathers, 1 Pine Plank, 1 Iron Ingot | 20 arrows |
| Building | 4 Bear Hides | Ram Kit, with its other ingredients |
Outfitters normally cure two hides into one leather. Compare raw-material offers with the value of processed goods.
Making money
Best route: skin animals on a combat route you already profit from, then sell the hides and parts to confirmed buyers. Add the body's ordinary gold and loot to your combat earnings separately; skinning does not remove them. There are no Court writs for hides or meat.
| Rank | Supply to sell | Who uses it | Money-making choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | Rat Pelts and Mudcrab Chitin | Leather suppliers; Rat Pelts also spin into Wool | Start with bodies you can kill safely; a clean pelt has a 50% chance of an extra hide |
| 10 | Bear Hides, furs and Big Tooth | Ram Kits, leather, Wool and potions | Keep Bear Hides whole when a Ram Kit buyer pays more than processed leather |
| 25 | Spider Silk and Tiger Pelts | Silk clothing and leather/Wool supply | Three Spider Silk make one Silk Bolt; compare the raw-fibre offer before weaving |
| 40 | Scorpion Chitin and Slaughterfish Scales | Hardened Leather armour | These hides are outside the three-a-day high-hide allowance |
| 50 | Tanner processing | Cured or Hardened Leather buyers | One hide makes one leather instead of needing two; the loom charges 50 gold per batch |
Tanner is the clearest repeat-volume income perk when leather has buyers. For a batch spending 100 suitable hides:
Curing has no Outfitting rank gate. Sell against an order or compare the leather proceeds with selling the original hides; higher-tier processing does not guarantee a better price.
Harpy Feathers, Dreugh Shells and Dragonling Scales share a three-hide account allowance per day, including clean bonus hides. Treat them as occasional high-value sales rather than an unlimited farm. Scorpions and slaughterfish remain repeatable supplies of Hardened Leather inputs. Harpy Feathers stay whole for arrows; they do not cure into leather.
Store fresh food before it starts to spoil. Big Tooth, Spider's Venom and Giant Scorpion Stingers add separate potion-ingredient sales where buyers want them; a bonus part is only a 25% roll and is lost on a torn trace.
The best target is the animal with the strongest combined loot and material return for your actual kill time, not necessarily the highest hide tier. Follow Market fees, and include combat supplies, repairs, knife wear and selling trips.
Mounted Trophies
Choose one of these specialisations at Hunting 100. Eligible food-producing bodies yield Raw Meat or Raw Fish:
| Rank-100 choice | Food yield (items per eligible body) | Meat spoilage rate | Trophy reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Butcher | 2 | Half normal | None |
| Trophy Hunter | 1 | Normal | A Mounted Trophy from a clean pelt of a grade-5 or grade-6 beast |
Hang Mounted Trophies on a wall in your home. The character's collected beasts appear under Collections → Trophies.
