Market
The Market serves the whole Bay: every town notice board shows the same listings. Open Market, choose the currency and view, then compare the final cost before buying or listing.
What to sell where
| Goods | View | Currency | Main requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recognised gathering materials | Materials | Silver or gold | List from Stores in an eligible origin category |
| Eligible crafted products | Crafted | Silver or gold | The crafted product must be recognised and eligible for that currency |
| Ordinary eligible loot from your pack | Goods | Gold only | Unequip and unlock the item before listing |
| Unenchanted Masterwork products | Auctions | Silver only | Eligible crafted Masterwork |
| Requested materials | Orders | Silver only | Fill the exact material and quantity still required |
An enchanted Masterwork is ineligible for Market listing. Direct trades and NPC sales remain available if the item is otherwise eligible. Bound, quest and summoned items cannot be listed. Letters of credit and arrows cannot be listed in Goods; recognised materials belong in Stores.
Listing limits
| Posting | Lifetime | Open limit per account | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ordinary listing | 72 real hours | 30 listings | 1–1,000,000 of the selected currency; materials are priced per unit |
| Buy order | 7 real days | 20 orders | Silver per unit |
| Masterwork auction | 24 real hours | Shares the listing allowance | Opening bid in silver |
For an auction with a standing bid, the next bid must add at least 5%, rounded up with a minimum rise of 1 silver. A bid in the final two minutes adds two minutes to the end time. Sellers can cancel only before the first bid.
List and collect
- Check Orders and History for demand and previous sales, then choose silver or gold.
- List materials from Stores, an eligible crafted product, or an eligible pack item. Check quantity, unit price, currency and the fee before confirming. The listed goods leave your available stock.
- Review My listings to see what remains or cancel a listing. Silver listing fees are not refunded on cancellation or expiry.
- Collect returned or delivered equipment when the game offers it. If a delivery cannot enter your pack, clear enough carrying space and try again.
- For gold sales, use Collect into your bank here at a Notice Board. The gold enters the bank account for the board's region. Silver sale proceeds go to your silver balance.
Market fees
| Fee | Rate | When charged |
|---|---|---|
| Silver listing fee | 1% | When the listing is posted |
| Gold sale fee | 1% | When the item sells |
| Completed-sale tax | 5% | On a completed sale |
A Seat-holder tithe can also apply. Market fees explains the full rules and worked net returns.
Courier charges
Buying within the listing's region has no courier fee or delivery wait. Buying from another region adds a fee based on the quantity and distance between regional hub towns. A seller filling a distant buy order pays the courier out of the order's proceeds.
These calculated examples assume ordinary courier timing and a silver purchase. The fee covers loads of up to 20 units; the time depends on distance rather than quantity.
| Hub distance (map pixels) | Units | Courier fee (silver) | Delivery time (real minutes) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 20 | 2 | 18 |
| 25 | 21 | 4 | 18 |
| 100 | 20 | 5 | 25 |
| 100 | 100 | 25 | 25 |
For a gold purchase, the courier charge is converted to gold at 8 gold per silver. Seasonal conditions can slow couriers. Compare the quoted delivered total, not just the unit price.
Currency restrictions
These origin restrictions refer to goods bought on the Market. NPC-bought ingredients have their own crafting and writ eligibility rules; see Market fees.
| Material origin | May list for silver | May list for gold |
|---|---|---|
| Gathered yourself | Yes | Yes |
| Bought for silver | Yes | No |
| Bought for gold | No | Yes |
Crafted pieces bought for gold on the Market stay in the gold economy; they cannot be resold for silver or used to bypass silver crafting, order or writ restrictions. Do not assume that handing an item to another player changes its origin. Gold, silver and banks explains the one-way silver conversion.
The Vendors tab finds home traders; their stock is bought at the home rather than from this Market view. Use Trading with players for direct trading.
Check the item before buying
Selecting a piece in Crafted, Goods or Auctions opens its item card, showing its picture, rarity, statistics and enchantments. The purchase uses that same displayed item. Markets and couriers connect the provinces with one another and with the Bay.
