Enemy behaviour — Tactics
Tactics apply when an enemy sees its target within 14 m (51.2 m for shooters).
| Tactic | Trigger | Behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Attack turns | One target | At most 2 melee and 2 ranged attackers; others circle 1.5 m outside reach |
| Turn handover | After a blow | The attacker steps back; the longest-waiting enemy takes the next turn |
| Waiting override | More than 6 seconds waiting | The enemy attacks anyway |
| Exposed back | The target is facing away | Any enemy may attack |
| Backing off | Loses 25% health in 3 seconds | Steps back 2 m |
| Fleeing | Below 20% health | Animals and cowardly classes flee: mages, sorcerers, healers, bards, burglars, acrobats and thieves |
| Fighting to the end | Undead, Daedra, constructs and the watch | Do not flee |
| Kiting | Archer within 6 m | Backs away to 7 m |
