Court a townsperson whose regard for you has reached Friend (40), then marry at a temple. Children inherit a share of your standing and townsfolk's regard. Towns talk about family deaths, weddings and births for 7 days.

Use Courtship to build regard and affection. Compliments, gifts, hugs and kisses have different costs and requirements.
