Family modes

At Character creation you choose Enduring or Bloodline (permadeath). Online the question has a third answer, No lineage, which founds no house at all; offline the mod's own switch in Features does that for every character. The Family tab shows the tree, your House and a Hall of Ancestors.

• Bloodline: a death is final. You pick any living blood relative or a newborn heir to play next. If no one is left, the line ends and goes to the Hall.
• Enduring: a death costs years of life (Arkay's toll) and you rise as usual. Each death costs 4%, 6% or 10% of your race's lifespan (see Races), and you also age as you play. At three-quarters of the span you are an Elder, who may retire at any time. When the span runs out, the next death is final. Vampires and werewolves pay no toll.
