Families and heirs — Heirlooms and remains
A worn family heirloom passes down first. Otherwise, the most valuable eligible worn weapon or armour becomes the heirloom.
Quest items, summoned equipment, Sigil pieces, Aetheric items, Artifacts and Gilded items cannot become heirlooms.
| Succession | Chance to leave an eligible heirloom |
|---|---|
| Bloodline | 50% under the default setting |
| Enduring | Always |
An heirloom improves with each generation that carries it, up to 5 generations.
The heir’s first quest, The Bones of the fallen, leads to their remains.
| Remains | Contents |
|---|---|
| Bones | The fallen’s bones |
| Equipment | Any heirloom |
| Gold | 10% of carried gold, capped at 2,500 gold |
Laying the bones to rest at a temple gives +3 to the fallen’s best skill, up to +9 per skill. The revenant that killed the fallen hunts the heir.
