Families and heirs — Heirlooms and remains
- A worn family heirloom is passed down first. Otherwise, the most valuable eligible worn weapon or armour becomes one. Quest items, summoned equipment, Sigil pieces, Aetheric items, Artifacts and Gilded items cannot become heirlooms. Bloodline deaths have a 50% chance to leave an heirloom under the default setting; Enduring succession always leaves an eligible one. It grows with each generation that carries it: weapons +5% damage, armour +2, for up to 5 generations.
- The heir's first quest, The Bones of the fallen, leads to their remains: bones, any heirloom and 10% of the carried gold, up to 2,500 gold. Laying them to rest at a temple gives +3 to the fallen's best skill, up to +9 per skill.
- The revenant that killed the fallen hunts the heir.
