Creatures beyond the Bay
Beyond the Iliac Bay, each Tamriel biomes has its own daytime and night-time encounters. Towns use their province’s night-time encounters. The examples below describe local creatures; they are not complete spawn lists or encounter probabilities.
| Province | Local examples |
|---|---|
| Skyrim Map | Wolves, Snow Wolves, Sabretooth Tigers, Trolls |
| High Rock Map | Orcs, Goblins, Ogres, Dragonlings |
| Hammerfell Map | Giant Scorpions, Dragonlings, Centurion Spheres |
| Morrowind Map | Scamps, Daedroths, Fire Atronachs |
| Cyrodiil Map | Imps, Minotaurs, Mountain Lions, Goblins, Boars |
| Black Marsh Map | Lizard Men, Mudcrabs |
Enemy Expansion
Daggerfall Enemy Expansion supplies additional creatures. Without it, a suitable classic creature can replace an entry; entries with no suitable replacement are omitted. Some Skyrim Map rosters replace wolves with Sabretooth Tigers and trolls with Giants.
| Enemy Expansion creature | Without Enemy Expansion |
|---|---|
| Mountain Lion | Sabretooth Tiger |
| Scamp | Imp |
| Centurion Sphere | Iron Atronach |
| Mudcrab | Omitted |
| Goblin | Omitted |
Aquatic creatures such as Dreugh and Lamia are excluded from dry-land encounter tables. Encounters consider your level; high peaks Map do not force every new character to fight only powerful creatures. Online players use the same creature rules.
People
Each province’s Provinces of Tamriel apply to residents, keepers, crews, guards and enemies. A ship’s crew and a returning revenant keep their race. Existing courtships retain their name and race when older saves acquire the new provincial population rules.
